Easy Homemade Maple Pecan Cinnamon Rolls – Soft & Gooey

Ingredients

For the Dough:

  • 3 ½ cups (440g) all-purpose flour
  • ¼ cup (50g) granulated sugar
  • 2 ¼ tsp active dry yeast
  • ¾ cup (180ml) warm milk
  • ¼ cup (60g) melted unsalted butter
  • 1 large egg + 1 egg yolk
  • ½ tsp salt

For the Cinnamon Filling:

  • ¾ cup (150g) brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp ground cinnamon
  • ¼ cup (60g) softened unsalted butter

For the Maple Pecan Glaze:

  • ½ cup (120g) cream cheese, softened
  • ¼ cup (60ml) pure maple syrup
  • ½ cup (60g) powdered sugar
  • ½ cup (50g) chopped pecans

Instructions

1. Make the Dough

  • In a bowl, mix warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
  • Add melted butter, egg, and salt. Mix well.
  • Slowly add flour, kneading for 8 minutes until smooth.
  • Cover and let it rise for 1 hour (until doubled in size).

2. Fill & Roll

  • Mix brown sugar and cinnamon.
  • Roll out the dough into a 12x18-inch rectangle.
  • Spread softened butter, then sprinkle cinnamon-sugar mixture evenly.

3. Shape & Bake

  • Roll up tightly and cut into 12 rolls.
  • Place in a greased baking dish, cover, and let rise for 30 minutes.
  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake for 20-25 minutes.

4. Make the Glaze & Serve

  • Mix cream cheese, maple syrup, and powdered sugar until smooth.
  • Drizzle over warm rolls and sprinkle with pecans.
